Current Juniors: The Rotary Youth Leadership Award is an exciting seminar where your leadership skills are identified, developed and improved. This leadership experience lasts six days and is held in the beautiful Manzano mountains in Central New Mexico. RYLA is the camp that will sharpen your leadership skills. FAFSA Completion Night!!!!
Rio Rancho High School will be offering a FAFSA Assistance Night to help graduating Seniors and parents complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). A representative from New Mexico Educational Assistance Foundation along with representatives from UNM will be available to answer questions and assist with the application.

The event will take place on Wednesday, January 30th from 6:00pm-8:00pm in the RRHS Media Center.

To complete the application students and parents may need to refer to:
Social Security Card, Driver's License, tax forms from previous year, bank statements, mortgage information, investment records etc.

To speed up the process both student and parent can obtain their PIN number to the application in advance at: http://www.pin.ed.gov

2012-13 ACT Prep Program
Omniac Education and Rio Rancho High School are proud to present the RRHS ACT Prep Program for the 2012-13 school year! The program is intended to help students become "college ready" by raising ACT scores. The ACT Exam can be a formidable experience for many high school students but this unique course can help you master the tests and do your absolute best! This program is intended to prepare students for the February 9th, 2012 ACT Exam.

Program Summary:
  • 10 hours of Classroom instruction
  • 2 Diagnostic ACT Exams (one optional)
  • Omniac Manual (approx 100 pages)
  • Complimentary "Real ACT Prep Guide"
  • Maximum Class Size = 18 Students
  • Available only at RRHS!!
  • Course Cost is $299

Leadership / Scholarship Opportunity for Current Juniors!!!

Great Opportunity for Juniors

The Rosemont Leadership Institute (RLI), in collaboration with the University of New Mexico (UNM) and New Mexico State University (NMSU), is selecting exceptional high school students for enrollment in its flagship scholarship program. RLI invites applications from high school students who plan to attend UNM or NMSU, are passionate about building their leadership skills, addressing national/global issues, and becoming agents of change.

The program is open to high school juniors and enrollment is limited to 30 students. Interested high school juniors should apply through their high school guidance counselor or download an application at rosemontleadership.org.  Applications are now being accepted through Friday, January 11, 2013.

Rosemont scholars who complete the program will receive a $25,000 grant towards the cost of their education. The program will provide students with the training, financial resources, global awareness, and professional networks needed to succeed in a competitive and knowledge based world.

How to Qualify

  1. Must be a New Mexico Resident. 
  2. Must be a junior enrolled in a New Mexico high school with a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average of a 2.5, which must be maintained in order to continue with the institute. (must submit an official or unofficial copy of a current high school transcript). 
  3. Must commit to completing the two-week Rosemont Leadership Institute summer program in full (one week before and after Senior year). 
  4. Must commit to completing the Rosemont Challenge during your senior year 
  5. Must agree attend either New Mexico State University or the University of New Mexico.

If you are interested in attending any of these small group information sessions, please utilize the College Prep Calendar on this site to see which schools will be visiting. Parents, is your student interested in possibly participating in athletics at an NCAA Division I or Division II university or college after high school? Unsure of the appropriate steps or process of preparing your student to meet NCAA Eligibility requirements?
